What's New
Prismatic is:
Prismatic Productions, Inc. was formed
in 2003 to advance public interest in and understanding of issues of
diversity; to educate, instruct and present to the public diverse art
forms through performance, educational classes, symposiums, lectures,
festivals, and similar activities; and, to provide artists of diverse
backgrounds and forms with a forum to expose their works to the public.
To reach these goals Prismatic Productions,
Inc. serves as the umbrella organization for two distinct divisions:
Ollom Dance Theatre and Ollom Movement Art.
Ollom Dance Theatre was
formed to present works that are considered more classical dance.
These works include John Ollom's The Journey (2004), Anatomy
of Woman (2006), both presented at the prestigious Lincoln Center
Clark Theater and Love Stories (2007) presented at the LGBT Center in NYC. Anatomy of Woman was also presented at the Landmark Theatre in Port Washington, NY.
Ollom Movement Art was
born out of the Internal Landscapes© methodology developed
by Artistic Director John Ollom. This methodology transforms an internal
impulse into an authentic manifestation of movement art. The first production
was Internal Landscapes (2008) presented at the Amadeo Peñalver
Art Studio. Pressed Cyclic... was also presented in 2008 as part
of Fieldays at the Abrons Art Center. Our most recent production of M.U.D. (Men Under Dirt) has been touring the Tri-state area and
has been presented as part of Soulforce's National Conference in 2009.
Prismatic Productions, Inc. has produced
our first short film Karpos and Kalamos (2009) which was selected for the New FilmMakers Festival in NYC. Karpos and Kalamos is featured in our production of M.U.D. (Men
Under Dirt).
Since 2003, we have presented an annual Summer Program in Northampton, MA with the past 6 years as part of the
Smith College Summer Program. This intensive program teaches anatomical
awareness and fundamentals of dance while applying the Internal Landscapes© methodology
to each artists work. Faculty members have been well-known professional
teachers including John Ollom as principal faculty member since the
program's inception.
